印尼新浪潮

這種獨立與主流並蓄的走向似乎也反映在2006 Jakarta 電影節的競賽結果。評審團頒了一個特別獎 Garin Nugroho (印尼唯一常獲國際影展肯定的導演) 及其新作 Opera Jawa (2006舊金山電影節閉幕片,與蔡明亮的黑眼圈、Apichatpong Weerasethakul Syndromes and a Century 同為 New Crowned Hope 委託創作之一) 最佳導演則頒給多產且具本土商業號召力的導演Rudy Soedjarwo。最佳影片Denias Senandung Di Atas Awan (雲端上的吟唱?) 說的是新幾內亞省小孩努力要上學的故事,題材討好,主角之一則是2004年印尼超級星光大道(Indonesia Idol)的決勝者Michael

The competition and its subsequent victory to Amat prove to be unexpectedly disastrous. Amat decides to return his award after he confesses that it was his father who finished the sculpture and Amat did not submit the sculpture on the first place. The incident prompts other villagers to dismiss and shun Amat and his father from the society. It takes an avid art appreciator Doni (Butet Kertaredjasa) and a governor (Christine Hakim in her big-screen comeback) to untangle the problematic life of Amat and his father, which eventually brings the whole village together in peace again.
